Montreal Japanese United Church, Part-time Ministry Personnel (9 hours per week)

The congregation seeks a minister to lead worship twice a month, supplemented by lay leaders. In this scenario, an English speaking solo minister would be preferable. As English is not the first language of a large majority of the congregation, across all ethnic backgrounds (Filipino, Japanese Canadian, South Asian), a minister with excellent straightforward communication skills is highly valued. Further, someone who can communicate practical applications, who is energetic, warm, and engaging, would be very much appreciated. We also need, an individual who can resource, empower, and raise the abilities of lay leaders.

Theologically, the congregation has transformed from a traditional conservative ministry to one that leans more towards and evangelical style. The focus of ministry is weekly Sunday service, the Sacraments, and an annual spiritual retreat.
