MANDATORY RACIAL JUSTICE TRAINING

Anti-Racism Policy Statement of the United Church of Canada adopted by the 37th General Council 2000.

Participation in a Racial Justice training session is mandatory for all ministry personnel (GC 39, 2006) who may participate in any one of the events offered by the training teams of Montreal and Ottawa Conference before December 2010.

Dates scheduled are as follows:

• CL- Vendredi 16 avril, 2010  - 14:00 - 22:00 avec souper à l'Église St. Marc,Ottawa en Français seulement.
• OTT- Thursday, April 22, 2010 - 9:00 - 3:30 with lunch at Dominion-Chalmers.
• MTL-Thursday, April 29, 2010 - 9:00 - 4:00 with lunch at Summerlea United. 
• MTL - Saturday, September 18, 2010 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (at Sumerlea United)
• SVP – Wednesday, September 22 at Winchester
• QSP – Wednesday, October 20,2010 at the Retreat Centre Maison Rivière, Sherbrooke, 10am – 4pm:  QSP Lay preachers are required to attend
• OTT - Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Regional Centre
• MTL – Wednesday November 24, 2010 (to be confirmed)
   

The trainings are free and will take a day, including a shared meal (provided).

Please register your intention to participate with either the Montreal or Ottawa office administrator. A bilingual certificate will be prepared for each participant, and a notation be put in personnel files of ministry personel.

Laity are encouraged to attend these session.

Any ministry personnel new to the Montreal and Ottawa Conference as a result of the Transfer and Settlement Process, or in response to a Call or Appointment, who have not received training, will be required to do such in the autumn of 2010. Settlement and Calls and Appointments following January 1, 2011 will not be enacted without the training having been taken.

Les formations d'un jour sont gratuites et un repas à partager entre collègues sera servi.

Veuillez S.V.P. vous enregistrer auprès d'un des assistants administratifs de nos bureaux de Montréal ou Ottawa. Chaque participant recevra un certificat bilingue et une note sera inscrite au dossier de chaque pasteur ministériel.

Les laïcs sont encouragés de participer à cette formation.

Tous les nouveaux pasteurs ministériels qui se joindront au Synode de Montréal et Ottawa à la suite du processus de transfert et placement, ou en réponse à un appel ou une nomination, n'ayant pas reçu la formation, se verront obligés d'y participer à l'automne. Les transferts, appels et nominations qui auront lieu après le 1er janvier 2011 ne seront pas décrétés sans que la formation ait été reçue.
