Mission and Service Sunday

Greetings

Many throughout the conference have asked me the date of Mission and Service Sunday.  The Conference Stewardship Committee would like the pastoral charges in Montreal and Ottawa Conference to recognize the fourth Sunday of September each year as Mission and Service Sunday.  In 2010 the date will be September 26th.  The attached worship service and sermon are to assist you in planning your Mission and Service Sunday. Let us make it one great hour of sharing the Mission and Service story in our conference..

Jesus’ life was one of service to others. We are called to follow that example and to love and serve others throughout the world. In the United Church this is made possible through the Mission and Service Fund. Jesus Mission is our Mission
Through the Mission and Service Fund, we are able to take a long-term and far-sighted view of our world. The work of our partners throughout the world focuses on today and tomorrow. Through the Mission and Service Fund, we can provide resources, planning, and hope that will help others grow and flourish well into the future. We do make a difference.
On September 26th as a Conference let us celebrate the unique and special gift that the United Church Mission and Service Fund continues to be for our Church and the world, as we share Christ’s love.
